Security Industry Registration and Licensing Board

The current Board members consists of the Permanent Secretary for Defence as the Chairperson; and

a.      Representative from the Fiji Police Force;
b.      Representative from the Solicitor General’s Office;
c.      Security Industry member – Mr Vilikesa Raqio
d.      Security Industry member – Mr Praveen Chand
 
The term of membership of the current members will expire on 22 June, 2016 and members are serving their second term of three years.



Classification of Licenses

A license for carrying on a security activity may be one of the following classes –

a.      A master license which may be for a period not exceeding 3 years from the date it is granted;
b.      An individual license which may be for a period not exceeding 2years; and
c.      A provisional license which may be for a period not exceeding 12 months from the date it is granted.
 
Please refer to Division 2 – sections 14 to 18 of the Security Industry Decree 2010.

Security Industry Registration and Licensing Fees

There are three phases of fees namely Application, Issuance, and Endorsement
. The fees have been adjusted to reflect the reduction of VAT to 9%.
